Join Keiko Tanabe and Eugen Chisnicean, an international team of award-winning watercolor artists, for a week of painting en plein air in a beautiful Italian hilltop village in Tuscany!

Getting lost on meandering cobbled streets in a medieval town, marveling at a sweeping view of vineyards and olive groves, having all senses awaken by fabulous food and wine... Imagine doing all these and more while painting en plein air under the warm Tuscan sun.

Both Keiko and Eugen are full-time painters and dedicated workshop instructors. We combine our artistic insights and teaching methods to design this unique plein-air workshop especially for watercolorists, and share our knowledge and techniques that can be applied to streetscapes and landscapes.

Each day begins with a demonstration by one (or both) of us in Cortona or in a nearby location (some excursions are being planned). We will cover a variety of subjects and topics throughout the course and give participants individual instruction while painting on location.

We will primarily use English during this workshop but we can accommodate French-, Japanese-, Russian-, Romanian-, Ukrainian-speaking students to some degree. Painters of all levels are welcome but basic knowledge of watercolor painting is required to benefit from the workshop.

Keiko hails from Japan and has been professionally painting in watercolor since 2005. She has participated in, or been invited to, numerous international exhibitions and received many accolades for her watercolors. She's represented by Zantman Art Galleries (Carmel, California) and her work has been collected globally.

Eugen resides in Moldova but travels extensively to exhibit his works and teach watercolor workshops in other European countries. Since 2009, his watercolor works have been quickly recognized and already earned some top awards in art competitions outside his native country.
