If you've ever wanted to write a book but just didn't know how to get started and follow through to publication, this workshop is for you. Have the time of your life in this week long workshop amid the beauty and magic of Italy while you learn to write the book of your dreams. By the end of this workshop you will have a working outline for your book with specific plans for publication. You will also have the opportunity for additional follow-up sessions (via email and teleseminars) with Lieurance after you complete the workshop, to get the help you need so you can finish writing your book within 12 months.

About Cortona...

Cortona is one of the true jewels of the Tuscan �hill towns.� Cortona, which is often called the �City of Art,� has its origin as an Etruscan city that pre-dates Roman times with sections of its walls dating back some 2500 years. As is typical of Tuscan hill-towns, Cortona is a walled city that, for purposes of defense, was built atop a prominent geographical point. The stone buildings and streets not only have the romance, style, and charm that are particular to Tuscany, but also speak of the lives and times Cortona has witnessed. An encounter with Cortona is an encounter with music & art, with history and with spirituality. Getting to know this timeless city is a real rediscovery of our past. Cortona offers testimony to its history as well as an enchanting view of the landscape enclosed by Lake Trasimeno and the Apennine mountains.

About this workshop...

Workshop Sessions Will Include:
1. HAVE THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE WHILE DISCOVERING THE BOOK YOU WERE BORN TO WRITE
Suzanne Lieurance will provide writing exercises and discussion topics designed to help you uncover the book only YOU can write!

2. LEARN EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PUBLISHING BUT WERE TOO AFRAID (OR JUST DIDN'T KNOW ENOUGH) TO ASK
Lieurance will cover information you need to know about the world of publishing even BEFORE you write your book. This session will include such topics as - what publishers look for in best-selling book titles, how to choose the best title for your book, how to find a publisher, and why you should consider self-publishing your first book. We'll also discuss possible ways you can make a living from your book once it is published.

3. PREPARE TO WRITE THE BOOK OF YOUR DREAMS: FIRST THINGS FIRST
Using her own books and others as models, Lieurance will give examples of how to conduct the research and prewriting needed before starting on the book of your dreams, whether that book be nonfiction or fiction.

4. STRUCTURE THE BOOK OF YOUR DREAMS SO IT COMES TO LIFE
Lieurance will lead participants to discover ways to structure a nonfiction book (so it's easier to write and easier for people to read once it's written). She will also talk about the structure of novels - covering how to "hook" the reader with your first chapter, how to avoid a sagging middle, and how to write a satisfying ending for your book.

5. CREATE A WORKING OUTLINE FOR THE BOOK OF YOUR DREAMS
Lieurance will lead participants through the actual outlining of their books. Participants will also find out how to use a journal to incorporate their daily experiences into their books, whether the books be fiction or nonfiction.   Most everyone dreams of writing a book someday and living the writer's life.
