Lightweight easel and palette:
A plein air easel, such as an Open Box M, Easy L, Guerrilla box that will attach to any sturdy 35 mm camera tripod. All these easels include a palette that is part of the box. Also the Soltek easel is very compact. A Masterson palette box is handy to keep the paint enclosed for transport. Keep in mind the weight limit of your luggage for your flight over.

Suggested colors. Leave out colors in italic if you have a limited space.
Titanium white, Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Yellow Light, Cadmium Red light,

Brushes / palette knife:
4 – 5 hog bristle Flats 2,4,6,8 or10 .
A couple of softer synthetic Flats(10 -16)
1 liner brush for small details and signing.
2 Palette knifes: a 2 or 3 inches knife (rounded trowel shape) and a 2” angular trowel shaped palette knife
Canvas
10 - 12 canvas panels such as Ray Mar cotton canvas panels or Utrecht, etc.. (small ones, 11 x 14 or under)
Light wet canvas carrier : 1 or 2 if it fit in your suitcase (Ray Mar or Utrecht): It’s easier to use one size, such as 9” x 12” or 11”x14” on a trip so that you can use the carrier daily for the day’s paintings, and then use it again for the wettest paintings for the trip home.

Medium/Cleaning:
- Mediums: like Windsor & Newton Liquin of M.Graham Walnut Alkyd help accelerate the drying time.
- Brush washer: air tight container with a removable straining insert for odorless turpentine * (to separate turpentine from paint deposit)
- Scraper with retractable razor blade to clean your palette
- Paper towels, plastic bags, baby wipes (clean your hands) available locally.

Miscellaneous:
Backpack with wheels (to carry your supplies during the workshop) that you take as a carry-on on the plane (make sure to pack all painting supplies in your suitcase and fill you backpack with clothes, etc…), digital Camera, small clamps to attach stuff to your easel or tripod, small sketch book and pencil, small collapsible umbrella, view catcher, hat, sunscreen.
