Carolyn Lewis
Carolyn Lewis
Painting Treasures of
Austria's Tyrol
en Plein Air
with Artist/ Instructor
Carolyn Lewis
Tyrol, Austria
June 2015 dates coming soon!

Study with Carolyn and capture the adventures of plein air painting colorful landscapes in the beautiful and picturesque Tyrol region of Austria. Discover how painting from life helps us to see and observe the affects of light and atmosphere. Learn how to simplify your subject while painting more quickly and accurately, with special attention placed on learning to see masses, as opposed to line, and form, rather than detail.

The entire painting process will be covered along with daily demonstrations in oil. Carolyn will work individually with each student at their easel and guide them at their own level. This workshop is for anyone interested in learning to develop creative, painterly paintings with clean, rich color, mood, and dynamic compositions. There will be group critiques at the end of each day.

Experience the thrill and beauty of a wonderful part of Austria, and even more so, taking these memories you've created home with you! This workshop is for beginners to advanced artists and will be conducted outdoors on location.

Workshop is open to painters of all levels. Whether you are a novice just learning to mix color, or a professional needing advanced problem solving, Carolyn’s individualized instruction will address needs at your level and push you to the next step in your personal development.
Carolyn will be working in Oils but Participants can work in pastels, acrylics or watercolor.  Participants should be comfortable with their medium as Carolyn is not teaching them the use of the medium, but how to get a good composition, values, edges, depth, and simplifying the scene they are painting by using big shapes.
