THE ART OF PAINTING LOOSE WORKSHOP IN CORTONA.
Emphasis is on how to get the “tight” out of your painting and let the “loose” in! Tips on painting loose, how to get better color (lose the mud). If you like to paint tight, that’s fine. I’m easy! We will also discuss composition- in general, how to get the Umpphhh! into your painting. We will be painting on location so we will also discuss how to “see” the subject matter and translate that onto canvas.
Classes will start with a demo in oils by Carol, later, students may paint along with Carol step by step or start your own painting. It is up to you. You will be surprised at how much you learn! Students will finish one to five paintings per day.
There will be plenty of one on one help. The setting is casual and flexible. I take into account the needs of each student and tailor my teaching towards each individual’s goal.
Setting is casual and fun!

About Cortona
Cortona is one of the true jewels of the Tuscan “hill towns.” Cortona, which is often called the “City of Art,” has its origin as an Etruscan city that pre-dates Roman times with sections of its walls dating back some 2500 years. As is typical of Tuscan hill-towns, Cortona is a walled city that, for purposes of defense, was built atop a prominent geographical point. The stone buildings and streets not only have the romance, style, and charm that are particular to Tuscany, but also speak of the lives and times Cortona has witnessed. An encounter with Cortona is an encounter with music & art, with history and with spirituality. Getting to know this timeless city is a real rediscovery of our past. Cortona offers testimony to its history as well as an enchanting view of the landscape enclosed by Lake Trasimeno and the Apennine mountains
